28cm K5(E) Rail Gun 

 This model of the "Leopold" Rail Gun by Hasegawa is important for Matador because the least convincing part of the kit was the rail supplied.  The difficulty of putting it onto standard HO/00 rails inspired our conversion kit RCG-02.  Figures include Preiser and Milicast, and with a little care the line was extended to run in front of the main tank sheds of the museum.

This model  has been lucky several times in competitions.  It is always worth saying "lucky".  Judges do their best, but there is always an element of the subjective - or luck.  If you are a beginner, do not be put off, and don't believe all the complaining letters in the model press.  Perhaps the people who write them should volunteer to do some judging themselves, and then they might be a little more charitable.
